Your subscriptions are saved only on this device. This page fetches the feed straight from its site, or through the relay if the site blocks web pages (⚙ Settings → Your feeds).
Shared feeds the site already fetches. Adding one tells no one.
An AI topic collects articles about something from all your feeds, even when they don't use your exact words.
Search and AI topics run a small AI model in your browser (about 25 MB, downloaded once). It's free and nothing you search leaves your device.
Looser → more articles, stricter → fewer, closer matches.
Pick an assistant for ✨ Summarize and ✨ Brief me: Claude, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Grok, OpenRouter or Gemini, the same ones as jamalterm. Switch any time with Alt+1–6. Keys stay in this browser and go only to that assistant's company. Usage is billed to that company's API account (a ChatGPT Plus subscription doesn't cover it).

Most sites don't let web pages read their feeds. For those, Sala Reader asks a relay: a small server that fetches the feed and returns only feeds. Public CORS proxies are never used.
Your reader lives in this browser on this device. Your phone and laptop each have their own, and clearing this browser's data erases it. To move it or keep it safe, export a backup file and import it on the other device. It holds your subscriptions, folders, read and starred articles, topics and settings.
Subscriptions only, for other readers like Feedly or Inoreader:
Sala Reader has no accounts and no server-side storage. Here is everything that leaves this device:
